Forget the stuffy Miami wedding chapels, boring reception halls and cliché beach altars. When you’re exchanging vows in South Beach, you want to go big. We’re talking panoramic rooftop views, Rolls-Royces and mega yachts, historical landmarks and every nontraditional thing in between.

Need a special place to tie the knot? Check out these interesting ideas and unique wedding venues throughout South Florida.

What Makes It Unique?

Variety.

While most Miami wedding venues offer just one or two locations, you’ll have no shortage of settings to pick from at Fairchild.

Got a large guest list? Book the Bailey Palm Glade, with its 100-foot aisle, or the Tropical Arboretum, which is surrounded by over 700 species of trees and plants. Fairchild has half a dozen locations for big weddings and receptions.

Looking for a small, garden wedding venue in Miami? Fairchild’s got you covered, too. You can keep things intimate by tying the knot at the Rare Plant House, Moos Sunken Garden or Palmetum’s Entrance.

Of course, no matter which Fairchild spot you choose for your wedding and/or reception, it’s guaranteed to be gorgeous.

What Makes It Unique?

Enormous, rustic location.

Everyone on the hunt for an outdoor or rustic wedding venue in Miami has Cinco at the top of their list. Located just 20 minutes from Miami proper, this 5-acre working farm offers picturesque views, lush vegetation, over 200 exotic fruit crops and the ability to accommodate at least 150 guests, with the capacity for many more. As one of the best places to get married in Miami, Cinco Farm’s waitlist fills up fast, so hop to it!

What Makes It Unique?

Incredible architecture.

The charming indoor courthouse features stunning stained-glass windows, a 28-foot-tall atrium ceiling, an absolutely exquisite marble staircase and a cozy Royal Mezzanine that looks like a Gothic speakeasy. The décor is truly magical.

Outside, you’re welcomed by much of the same architectural design, plus a wide-open canopy of stars—the perfect stage for a nighttime reception and wedding photos.

What Makes It Unique?

Cozy, charming site.

Although this Miami venue’s 10-acre village can accommodate hundreds of wedding guests, it certainly doesn’t feel that large. And that’s a good thing! Originally built as a railway and depot in the early-1900s, Cauley Square has since been restored and developed into a quaint place near Cutler Bay for events and dining—all without losing its historic charm. There is a “traditional” wedding chapel on site, too.

What Makes It Unique?

Intimate outdoor locale.

Located on a barrier island between the Atlantic and the Intracoastal Waterway, Fort Lauderdale’s Bonnet House estate spans 35 acres and provides soon-to-be newlyweds (and guests) with a variety of picture-perfect settings. The whole area is surrounded by stunning orchid gardens and tropical plants, and guests have exclusive access to the tree-lined fountain, waterfront veranda and even a private beach.

What Makes It Unique?

Rustic-chic appeal.

Ideal for small-to-medium ceremonies and receptions, Redland Farm Life’s operating nursery and handcrafted wooden barn offers one of the most romantic settings to tie the knot in Homestead. The owners also provide white-glove service and wedding planning, ensuring you have access to all the resources needed to make your day perfect.

What Makes It Unique?

It’s got a planetarium and aquarium.

Although you can get married on Frost’s living rooftop—the views of Miami’s skyline are phenomenal—you might want to consider exchanging vows inside. There, you can choose a cosmic (Frost Planetarium) or underwater backdrop (Gulf Stream Aquarium) for your ceremony. Next up: Your reception in the Ocean Gallery. It’s truly one of the coolest wedding venues in Miami, if not all of South Florida.

What Makes It Unique?

You’re on a boat.

Really itching for a romantic wedding venue and fun place for a reception? Board the glamorous, 222-foot SeaFair and enjoy an evening full of modern sophistication. This mega yacht features 4 separate event spaces such as the popular View Sky Deck, which offers unobstructed views of Biscayne Bay, as well as the Reception and Coffee Bar, which seats up to 180 guests, making it one of the best small wedding venues in Miami. SeaFair also handles just about every facet of your wedding day, including catering, entertainment, staffing and the actual planning itself.

What Makes It Unique?

Tropical and nontraditional options.

A total of four locations are available for wedding ceremonies and receptions, with the Waterfall Tiki and Orchid Tiki options being perfect spaces for small, intimate gatherings. You can also choose to have your reception at the Miami Brewing Company Taproom, which is one of the largest in South Florida. Of course, being a winery, there’s no shortage of vino to sip!

What Makes It Unique?

Variety.

Like Fairchild, New World Center offers numerous event spaces for weddings and wedding receptions in Miami Beach. One of their most popular options, the Rooftop Garden, accommodates up to 250 guests and overlooks the Bay, which makes for a blissful setting. Many would even argue that it’s the best rooftop wedding venue in Miami.

What Makes It Unique?

Gigantic space with loads of artwork.

Located in the heart of Miami’s design district, Rubell provides newlyweds with perhaps the most fascinating wedding spaces. With over 52,000 square feet of exhibition galleries, thousands of paintings and sculptures, a library, and a lush garden, the museum is certainly no bore. If you’re a fan of contemporary art, it’s one of the two best wedding venues in Miami.

What Makes It Unique?

Located in an exceptionally cool neighborhood.

If the idea of getting married inside a museum like Rubell feels a bit too restricted, you’ll feel much more at home at Wynwood Walls. The only outdoor street museum in the nation, Wynwood Walls features unique murals and pieces of art that really blend with Miami with its creative, playful vibe. Because the venue is all outdoors, it can also hold up to 500 guests.

What Makes It Unique?

The quintessential mansion wedding venue near Miami.

Filled with Spanish archways, colorful Cuban tiles and Mediterranean architecture, Villa Woodbine screams “South Florida.” Located in Coconut Grove, Woodbine delivers rustic yet modern charm in high doses, and the owners also provide couples with a large menu of wedding-planning amenities. If only all Coconut Grove wedding venues could be this perfect.
