The
BMW XM isn’t here to fit in. As the first M-exclusive model since the M1, this hard-charging plug-in hybrid produces a net 644 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque from a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 and an electric motor. On paper, the XM seems like it’d fit right in alongside BMW’s other M-branded vehicles, but its weird aesthetics and awkward driving manners leave us wondering who this car is for, because it sure ain’t us.
