After nearly a year of patiently waiting, lucky first customers are finally receiving their Mustangs.
Fresh videos, initially shared by Jim Farley and subsequently retweeted thousands of times, show the cars being loaded onto train car carriers, commonly known as autoracks.
In contrast to previous early deliveries, especially those spotted in Detroit last July,
Ford‘s CEO assured everyone that this isn’t merely a symbolic delivery or a publicity stunt; Mustangs are genuinely being delivered all across the United States.

What do we know about the 2024 Mustang?
Regrettably, no additional details have been provided. In the absence of an official announcement, we still have no idea about the complete extent of these deliveries, Ford’s delivery schedule, or whether international customers are included in this process. However, for the majority of new Mustang owners, these specifics are irrelevant; the Top man’s word is good enough!
Based on previous tweets by Farley, the specific model you ordered—whether it’s the EcoBoost, the GT, or the Dark Horse—doesn’t affect the delivery timeline. All three versions are treated equally and are set to be delivered concurrently, starting this week. The only exception is the track-only Dark Horse R variant, which will be released at a later, unspecified date.
Statistics, What Do Mustang Fans Prefer?
The orders for the upcoming seventh-generation 2024 Mustang have already reached a substantial 13,000 in the United States alone. Notably, the GT V8 and the high-performance Dark Horse V8 variants accounted for an impressive 67% of these orders. These numbers constitute a significant backlog that Ford may take some time to go through.
Old-school manual gearbox lovers made up a quarter of the total buyers. Among those who opted for the four-cylinder EcoBoost Mustang, a majority also opted for the High-Performance Package. This particular package includes a specially programmed Electronic Drift Brake, perfect for some adrenaline-inducing maneuvers.
What’s New for the 2024 Ford Mustang?
To be honest, the iconic Mustang was in dire need of an update. And this seventh generation brought just that. The list of new additions goes on forever, but the course was clear, Ford’s goal was a faster, better-performing Mustang, of course, with the mandatory design updates.
A special Performance Pack is available on Both Mustang GT and EcoBoost models, that includes a front strut-tower brace, Torsen limited-slip differential, wider wheels and tires, larger Brembo brakes, and a MagneRide active-damping suspension.
Mustang Dark Horse also had its own special Performance Electronic Parking Brake pack, which is a new piece of engineering that has the deceiving look of a traditional lever-action handbrake, but has the ability to turn the car into a drifting machine. Ford’s upgrades culminated in the track-only Mustang Dark Horse R, a machine capable of 500 hp.

Turning a blind eye to prices and just going with the Dark Horse Coupe is everyone’s wish. The reality, however, says otherwise. The 2024 Mustang lineup is made up of 7 price levels, ranging from $32,515 for the base four-cylinder EcoBoost to $60,865 for the mighty Dark Horse V8.
