Locally assembled Haval Jolion was officially launched today in an event in Lahore. This is a C-segment crossover SUV with a price tag of Rs. 8.3 million. Sazgar Engineering earlier launched the imported units of this car, and now they have released this one. Interestingly, it has additional heated seats, a feature in the local variant. The arrival of this vehicle will surely increase the competition in the already tough crossover SUV segment, and that is why we are comparing it to the Changan Oshan X7, another relatively new addition to this segment.
This comparison is between Haval Jolion and Oshan X7 FutureSense, a top-of-the-line variant by Changan.
Dimensions
The crossover by Sazgar is 4472mm long, 1814 wide, and 1619mm high with a 2700mm wheelbase and 212mm ground clearance. In comparison, X7 is 4730mm in length, 1870mm in width, and 1720mm in height with a 2786mm wheelbase and 200mm ground clearance.
Engine
The new Jolion has a 4-cylinder Inline DOHC 1500cc turbocharged engine, producing 150hp and 220Nm of torque. Oshan X7 also has a 4-cylinder In Line DOHC 1500cc turbocharged engine, generating 185hp and 300Nm of torque. Both vehicles have a top speed of 220km/h with 7-speed Automatic DCT transmission.
Exterior
The crossover by Haval has 18-inch alloy wheels with 225/60/R18 tyers, compared to 19-inch alloy wheels and 225/55/R19 tyres. Furthermore, both have LED adjustable headlights, DRLs, body-colored door handles, side mirrors with indicators, panoramic sunroof, ventilated disc brakes, and rear spoilers.
Interior
Like the exterior, both vehicles share a number of interior options, i.e., electric power steering, dual-zone climate control, smart keyless entry, push start, power windows, FAUX leather ventilated and heated seats, and navigation.
The infotainment display in Jolion is 12.3-inch with 7-inch colored combination instrument, while X7 has 10.25 infotainment display and 7-inch digital speedometer.
The Driver’s seat in Jolion is 8-direction electric adjustable and 4-way manual adjustable passenger seat, while X7 has 6-Way Electric Adjustable driving and 6-way electric adjustable passenger seat.
Safety & Convenience
The number of airbags in Jolion is six compared to four in X7. However, both crossovers come with an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Downhill Assist, cruise control, Hill Start assist Control, traction control, front & rear cameras, and electronic handbrake.
Price
The ex-factory price of Haval Jolion is Rs. 8.3 million, while the current rate of X7 FutureSense is Rs. 9,199,000.
