As a consequence of high end motors having been considered a new high yielding asset class (a direct effect of the late 1987 stock market crash), a sizeable number of vehicles were bought to be tucked away and never turn a wheel in anger.
During the long drawn out economic slump of the early-to-mid 1990s, most of these vehicles emerged from storage to be sold at below list price and today, very few ‘as new’ examples remain from that crazy period.
One such machine is currently on offer with Bingo Sports in Tokyo.
Chassis 86144 emerged from the Ferrari factory at the height of the speculator-driven madness, 1990, since which time it has accumulated a mere 750km in the hands of just one owner.
Effectively presented in brand new condition, it represents a rare opportunity to buy a one owner F40, let alone an example with less than 1000km from new.
