Lahore City Traffic recently revealed the data of traffic violations in the city during 2023. Not surprisingly, the bikers became on the top with 3,371,000 breaches last year. “Out of 4.8 million, most violations were done by the bikers in Lahore,” the police mentioned in a tweet.
As per the force, the bikers were involved in overspeeding, without helmet riding, one-way rule, and lane/line violations. “They were also involved in most road accidents,” the police stated.

2023 and Bikers of Lahore
2023 has remained a vital year for both traffic police and bikers in Lahore as police strictly impose important rules, including helmets and one-way violations. The bikers are specifically involved in violating one-way traffic rules, causing accidents and road disturbances. Furthermore, wearing a helmet was made essential by the police as a heavy fine of Rs. 2,000 was imposed on bikers without helmets.
Steps were taken to ensure the safety of bike riders and others on the roads, and with the repeated efforts of traffic police, most of the riders in Lahore can now be seen wearing helmets. To ensure the implementation of the new rules, police initially banned entry of riders without helmets on Mall Road, which was later expanded to other major highways of the city.
Moreover, the Lahore High Court (LHC) even suggested a Rs. 5,000 fine for bikers without helmets, stating that helmets are the most critical component to keep riders safe in case of accidents. According to police, most of the deaths of bikers are caused by the absence of helmets.
With the conclusion of this year coming, hopefully, more bikers will follow the traffic rules, especially helmet-wearing and not going against the one-way traffic. Hopefully, the next year will be safer for everyone on the roads, and we will see fewer accidents in 2024.
