Honda is the most trusted brand in Pakistan for two-wheelers, making CD70 the top brand. There have been repeated modifications on this bike model in which people have transformed it either for a sporty look or improved performance. Here is a unique review in which a newer bike is transformed into a vintage model for enhanced performance and visual appeal. Let’s dig out the modification steps taken by its owner, Taha, in today’s blog.
Make, Model, and Variant
This one was a Honda CD70 model of 2002, purchased in 2005, which was modified into the famous classic model of CD70 bikes, the Pointer 1988. It was initially purchased at a cost of Rs. 40,000. However, the same model of bike would be available for around 24,000 in scrap conditions.
Modifications
Engine-wise, this bike maintains stock condition, but its performance was improved by replacing its carburetor with a Honda 125 model. Besides, the carburetor body shape is also enhanced by changing indicators, exhaust pipe, headlights, mudguards, and taillights. All the parts are genuine Honda spare parts brought from Karachi and polished for a better appearance. The complete bike has gone through a paint job, which makes it visually appealing. However, the tires are the same as the CD70 model.
Maintenance and Fuel Average
Since it is an old bike, it requires tuning and oil changes every alternate month, which costs around Rs. 1200. However, it gives a decent fuel average of 45 km/L, providing a comfortable ride and average performance.
Price Tag
The Current value of this project bike is Rs. 100,000, which includes Rs. 30,000 for aftermarket parts and all the modification jobs done on it.
