Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this 1982 Ford Bronco XLT.

Premiering worldwide on Netflix on April 20, 2022, the two-season, 24-episode melodrama series called “The Marked Heart” was produced as a Colombian thriller. Although it was filmed in Spanish, it became available for streaming dubbed in English. One of the show’s key cast members was this custom Bronco, which is now being offered for sale by a private seller in Coral Springs, Florida. The auction ends Friday, so head over to check it out.

Ford’s popular (and capable) Bronco sport-utility vehicle moved into its third generation in 1980. While remaining in the full-size segment, it lost weight and received a more fuel-efficient powertrain. Underpinnings (and much of the exterior body work) were provided by the seventh-generation Ford F-Series pickup chassis. Model year 1982 marked the first time the blue oval emblem took the place of the previous F-O-R-D badging on the hood.

Today’s featured Bronco used to have a black-on-black color scheme, but it went through an inside-and-out restoration in 2022 which changed all that. The exterior now has a light blue paint scheme with a dark gray removable hardtop, and the interior was redone with custom saddle-colored leather diamond-stitched bucket seats and a matching center console. The result is a unique and attractive cabin. Included in the equipment list are a touch-screen Pioneer Bluetooth stereo, air conditioning, and a tilt steering column.

Power under the hood comes from a 4.9-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The odometer shows only five digits, and the seller states that the current reading of 67,215 is indicative of true miles on the vehicle. The CARFAX supports that assertion, although there is a 40-plus year gap between 1981 and 2023. An oil change and an alignment were performed in July.

The seller has provided a drive-by video of the Bronco in action, and it looks good on screen – which must be part of the reason why Netflix producers chose it for the recent TV series. Now my interest is piqued and I’d like to see if I could track down some scenes featuring this Bronco on the show.

If you have ever wanted to own a television-featured vehicle, this Bronco offers a unique collector opportunity!

The auction for this 1982 Ford Bronco XLT 4×4 4-Speed ends Friday, December 8, 2023 at 12:45 p.m. (MST)
