The carwow crew got their hands on a Bugatti Chiron Super Sport and quickly put it to the test by pitting it against a Tesla Model S Plaid equipped with the Track Package to see which one is faster in a drag race.

The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport is a highly exclusive variant of the Chiron, based on the record-breaking vehicle that shattered the 300 mph barrier. It is powered by an 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine generating a formidable 1,578 hp, capable of reaching speeds near 300 mph, although electronically limited to 273 mph. Only 30 units were manufactured, each commanding a price tag of approximately $4 million.

Facing off against the Bugatti is the Tesla Model S Plaid, fitted with the Track Package. This electric vehicle boasts three motors delivering up to 1,020 hp and a substantial 1,047 lb-ft (1,420 Nm) of torque. According to the specifications, it can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.99 seconds and complete the quarter-mile in 9.23 seconds at a top speed of 155 mph (249 kph).

It’s worth noting that the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport weighs 4,398 pounds, while the Tesla Model S Plaid tips the scales at 4,828 pounds. Electric cars are known for their quick acceleration right off the line, but the question remains: how will the Model S Plaid Track Pack fare against the formidable Bugatti in this showdown?
