Changan has unveiled the updated version of its second-generation Changan CS55 Plus SUV just two and a half years after its initial debut. The freshened CS55 Plus boasts an enhanced front fascia, while the rear and interior remain largely the same, although with some subtle improvements.
Dimensions of Changan CS55 Plus
With dimensions measuring 4,539 mm in length, 1,865 mm in width, and standing at 1,680 mm in height, it’s positioned perfectly in the compact SUV category. Plus, it features a wheelbase spanning 2,656 mm.
Design Refinements
The facelifted CS55 Plus showcases a new front grille design. It’s frameless and takes on a trapezoidal shape with mesh-like inserts. Two symmetrical chrome C-strips encircle the grille, with the Changan logo taking center stage. A second trapezoidal grille sits below the license plate, adding an extra touch of style.
Improved Changan CS55 Plus
While the side profile remains largely unchanged, the addition of petal-shaped alloy wheels is a noticeable upgrade. At the rear, polygonal taillights illuminated by 128 LED units make a statement. An integrated roof spoiler houses the high-mounted brake lights, and dual circular exhausts complete the look.
Changan CS55 Plus Interior
Inside, the CS55 Plus retains its 10-inch full LCD instrument panel and a 10.25-inch floating central control screen. However, physical buttons under the air conditioning outlets have been removed for a cleaner look. The vehicle boasts advanced driving assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning. Additional features include a panoramic sunroof, integrated driving recorder, ambient lighting, voice recognition, and over-the-air updates.
Comfort and Convenience
Changan has upgraded the central console with more padding on both sides and a smaller rotary shifter. This adjustment creates space for a wireless charging pad in the front and a cup holder on the right side. The CS55 Plus accommodates five passengers, all sitting on imitation leather seats. The driver’s seat offers electric adjustment, and the premium version includes second-row armrests and heated front seats.
Power and Efficiency
Under the hood, a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine pairs with a 7-speed DCT gearbox. This powertrain produces 185 hp and 300 Nm of peak torque, reaching a top speed of 190 km/h. The comprehensive fuel consumption rate stands at 14.4 km per liter.
Changan CS55 Plus Price
This compact SUV offers three variants and falls within an attractive price range of 99,900 to 113,900 yuan, equivalent to approximately $13,700 to $15,700. This is approximately equivalent to PKR 46 lacs.
The refreshed Changan CS55 Plus promises an improved driving experience, blending style, technology, and affordability. What are your thoughts on this? Tell us in the comments below!
