The Gallardo made its debut at the 2003 Geneva Motor Show, positioned as Lamborghini’s entry-level sports car, slotted below the Murcielago. The first examples came with a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V10 located behind the driver, generating 493 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque.
Subsequent versions included more potent options, and a 2008 refresh upped the engine displacement to 5.2 liters. Customers were also given the option of a gated six-speed manual gearbox, while Lamborghini also provided a six-speed single-clutch automated manual transmission known as “e-gear.”
The folks at the AutoTopNL YouTube channel managed to get their hands on a Gallardo with a six-speed manual gearbox featuring the iconic gated shift pattern. They decided to test its speed capabilities on the Autobahn. If you watch the video, you’ll see that after a few runs, the driver was able to push the car all the way to 320 km/h (198 mph) before needing to slow down due to traffic.
