With an aim to promote its hybrid technology and models, Honda Malaysia (HM) has launched a campaign named ‘Gen H’. The ‘H’ in ‘Gen H’ represents ‘Honda, Hybrid, and Hype’. As part of this campaign, Honda will organize a nationwide roadshow to share the excitement and enjoyment of their hybrid technology among the citizens.

During the Gen H events, attendees will have the opportunity to experience Honda’s e:HEV hybrid technology, which is incorporated in popular models such as the City, City Hatchback, Civic, and HR-V. All these e:HEV models are available in the top-of-the-range RS trim. Alongside showcasing the hybrid technology, the roadshow will offer a variety of engaging activities.

Moreover, the visitors can enjoy fun fair rides, play arcade games, participate in workshops, indulge in food and beverages, admire graffiti art created by local artists, and explore an ‘immersive area’ filled with interactive activities.

The roadshow is set to take place next month, starting with an opening event at Linear Park in Taman Desa Tebrau, Johor Bahru on June 3-4. It will then move to Juru Auto City in Penang on June 10-11. The grand finale will be held at Carpark C of Stadium Bukit Jalil on June 17-18. Admission to the roadshow is free for all attendees.

As per Hironobu Yoshimura, the CEO and Managing Director of Honda Malaysia, the Malaysian market holds significant importance for locally developed hybrid vehicles. He emphasized that hybrid technology provides drivers with a combination of efficiency and enjoyment.

The Milestone

In 2020, Honda Malaysia introduced the City’s RS e:HEV variant, equipped with a 1.5L e:HEV powertrain, making its global debut in the country. Since then, Honda Malaysia has successfully sold over 2,800 units of the City e:HEV, 1,600 units of the City Hatchback, 2,600 units of the HR-V Hybrid, and 600 units of the Civic e:HEV. These numbers highlight the positive reception and demand for Honda’s hybrid models in the Malaysian market.
