Hyundai Santa Fe was launched this weekend as Hyundai Nishat called it Pakistan’s first 7-seater Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) SUV. The company introduced two variants of the car, Smart and Signature, the latter being the top-of-the-line. Hyundai Santa Fe is not the first HEV SUV in Pakistan as its direct competitor is Haval H6 HEV, the car launched in Pakistan recently. So, we decided to compare these two HEVs, Hyundai Santa Fe Signature and Haval H6 HEV, so PakWheelers can make an educated decision while buying their new car.
Dimensions
Hyundai Santa Fe is 478mm long, 1900mm wide, and 1710mm high with a wheelbase of 2765mm and ground clearance of 176mm. Meanwhile, Haval H6 is 4653mm long, 1886mm in width, 1734mm in height, and has a 2738mm wheelbase with 212mm ground clearance.
As mentioned earlier, the seating capacity in Santa Fe is 7-seater while H6 is a 5-seater.
Engine and Transmission
Hyundai’s SUV has a 1598cc 4-cylinder Inline DOHC GDi hybrid engine, producing 227hp at 5500 RPM and 350Nm of torque at 4400 RPM with a maximum speed of 220 kilometers per hour. In Comparison, H6 has a 1497cc 4-cylinder Inline DOHC MPI hybrid engine, which generates 240hp at 5500 RPM and 530 Nm of torque with a top speed of 180 kilometers per hour.
Santa Fe comes with a 6-speed Automatic transmission, while Haval offers a 7-speed Automatic one in H6.
Exterior
Both vehicles come with 19-inch alloy wheels; however, H6 doesn’t have a spare tyre. Regarding the exterior option, Santa Fe and H6 offer similar specs and features like front fog lights, LED adjustable headlamps, side mirrors with indicators, panoramic sunroof, DRLs, LED rear lights, smart entry, and spoiler.
The door handles in Hyundai’s SUV are chrome, while Haval’s has body-colored.
Interior
The infotainment display size in Santa Fe is 8-inch compared to 12.3-inch in H6 with front and rear speakers. Both have dual climate control, push start, central locking, electric power steering, power mirrors, power boot, driving modes, rear AC vents, rear wiper, heated seats, electronic handbrake, and interior lighting.
Santa Fe also offers ventilated seats and a cool box as extra features. Last but not least, the seat leather in Santa Fe is leather, while H6 has FAUX leather.
Safety & Convenience
Both SUVs offer multiple similar safety and convenience options, including:

- Immobilizer
- Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)
- Down Hill Assist Control
- Hill Start Assist Control

- Cruise Control

Price
Last but not least, the introductory price of the Hyundai Santa Fe Signature is Rs. 14,699,000 compared to the current rate of Haval H6 HEV of Rs. 12,149,000.
