As Pakistan’s 76th Independence Day approaches, Lahore Traffic Police gears up to ensure hassle-free traffic flow and safety for citizens. Under the guidance of the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore, Mustansar Feroze, an elaborate traffic strategy has been devised to maintain order during the celebrations.
Crack Down on Stunts and Noise Pollution
To curb dangerous practices like one-wheeling, racing, and road blocking, Lahore Traffic Police has devised a comprehensive plan. Such activities that not only endanger lives but also disrupt peace and cause noise pollution will not be tolerated. Jail vans will be strategically placed to apprehend offenders engaging in these stunts. In particular, motorcycles and rickshaws without proper silencers, contributing to noise pollution, will face legal action.
Robust Workforce Deployment
A formidable team comprising 12 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), 210 traffic inspectors, over 2,400 wardens, 6 breakdown units, and 25 folk lifters will be deployed across the city. In collaboration with the district police, barriers will be set up at 255 locations to ensure regulated traffic flow and prevent unauthorized stunts.
Focusing on Safety and Prevention
To maintain safety and prevent disturbances, 55 Special Anti-Wailing Squads will be formed. Additionally, jail vans will be stationed at 11 main intersections to deter potential rioters. In case of emergencies, 1 emergency squad per DSP will be available to provide swift assistance. Temporary speed breakers and barriers will be installed on key roads, while Safe City cameras will help identify road blockers.
Encouraging Responsible Parenting
CTO Mustansar Feroze emphasizes the strict enforcement of traffic laws, especially against one-wheeling and reckless driving. He urges parents not to allow their children to use one-wheeled motorcycles, reinforcing the importance of responsible parenting in road safety.
Real-Time Updates
To keep citizens informed about traffic situations, CTP Radio FM 88.6 will provide real-time updates on road conditions. This initiative aims to raise awareness and facilitate smoother traffic movement during the Independence Day celebrations.
Celebrating Independence Responsibly
Lahore Traffic Police’s meticulous planning ensures a safe and enjoyable Independence Day for all. By cracking down on dangerous stunts, noise pollution, and violations and by deploying a dedicated workforce and advanced technology, Lahore aims to celebrate freedom while upholding responsible road practices.
