In a bid to root out the problem of wrong parking Lahore High Court has issued directives to the city administration, instructing them to promptly address illegal parking in Punjab’s bustling metropolis as a measure to alleviate traffic congestion.
During the plea hearing, Justice Shahid Karim presided over Haroon Farooq’s petition concerning unauthorized parking spots. The Lahore High Court (LHC) emphasized the immediate sealing of eateries that do not have designated parking spaces.
Justice Karim emphasized the importance of receiving appropriate guidelines from the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to effectively tackle incorrect parking along critical road service lines.
The court also underlined the significance of preserving the city’s green spaces amidst increasing development activities. It placed particular emphasis on safeguarding mature trees from falling or unnecessary removal.
Expressing concern over persistent law violations in Lahore, the LHC urged the relevant authorities and government ministries to submit reports on the implementation of hearings.
Justice Karim asserted that the court would issue an official order to enforce the aforementioned guidelines. He also expressed criticism towards the traffic wardens for their inadequate performance of duties.
As Lahore intensifies legal action against traffic lawbreakers, it becomes essential for citizens to remain vigilant and comply with the regulations.
Fine for Helmet Violations

During the hearing of a case today, Justice Shahid Kareem asked City Traffic Police Lahore to make new rules, and the court will issue an order on them. “Impose this heavy fine; everything will be alright,” the court commented.
The court also directed the police to launch an awareness campaign about helmets for ten days and then implement new rules..
