In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), authorities responsible for combating electronic crimes and rumors arrested an individual for creating and posting a “damaging” video in luxury car showroom that aimed to influence public opinion and harm public interests.

The official news agency of the UAE, WAM, did not disclose the identity of the arrested person. The video depicted actions considered “indecent and comical” towards Emirati citizens.

The video featured an individual dressed in national attire entering a luxury car showroom, where he can be seen engaged with a female employee asking about the whereabouts of the showroom manager. In response to the employee’s directions, the individual waved a bundle of notes and stated he had enough money to buy any expensive car.

During his conversation with the showroom owner, he inquired about the price of the most expensive car available. When told that it cost 22 million dirhams, the person made a comment suggesting that his driver would be the one to drive it, implying this price was too low for him. Accompanying the man in the video, there were also two individuals appeared to be holding stacks of notes.

According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation of the UAE Attorney General’s Office, the video is deemed ethically inappropriate and socially disturbing. It goes against the moral standards of UAE society, causing distress. The individual who posted the video is currently under investigation, and the showroom owner has also been summoned for questioning.

Public Prosecution has called upon social media users in the UAE to exercise restraint and abide by legal and ethical guidelines when posting content on social platforms.
