MG4 EV Excite vs. Essence- Differences Between Two Variants

MG Pakistan officially unveiled its new offering MG4 EV yesterday in two variants, Excite and Essence. The car was revealed at MG’s dealerships across the country as a significant number of people attended the event. We have already shared the salient specs and features, price and exclusive photos of this new electric vehicle with you and now we are going to highlight the differences between these two variants, so the customers can make an educated decision while purchasing one of them.

Price 

The first difference is obviously price as Excite comes with a price tag of Rs. 10,999,000, while Essence costs Rs. 12,990,000, meaning there is almost Rs. 2 million price difference between them, which is not surprising as Essence is the top variant with a multiple extra features and options.

Performance

Then comes the biggest point, the performance of these variants. MG4 Excite has 51kWh battery capacity, compared to 64kWh in the Essence. Meanwhile the maximum power of the base variant is 125kW compared to 150kW in the top variant. Furthermore, the range of Excite is 350 kilometers/charge against 435 kilometers/charge of the Essence.

Last but not least, the top variant goes 0 to 100 in 7.2 seconds, compared to base variant’s 7.7 seconds.

Tyre & Alloy Wheels Size

MG Pakistan is offering 215/50/R17 alloy wheels in Excite, while the Essence has 235/45/R18, meaning the top variant has a bigger tyre in it.

Safety Features 

Although both variants have a number of common safety features including 6 airbags, ABS, Emergency Stability Program (ESP, Hill Start Assist, Auto Hold, Automatic Door Locking in accident, rear sensors, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, reverse camera, and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), the top variant some extra safety features, like:

  • Blind Spot Detection
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert
  • Door Opening Warning
  • Emergency Lane Keep Assist
  • Lane Change Assist
  • 360 View Camera

Interior 

Not so surprisingly, there are a few extra features in the interior of MG4 EV Essence, which are:

  • 3-level seat heating (driver and passenger)
  • Driver’s 6-way electrically adjustable seat
  • Auto dimming rearview mirror
  • Two level adjustable boot floor
  • Wireless phone charger
  • Steering wheel heating
  • PU leather and fabric seats
  • Black luxury fabric and PU leather
  • Satellite navigation
  • Voice control
  • Electric windows with one touch

Exterior 

Lastly, the exterior of Essence has some additional options:

  • Electric folding mirrors
  • Rear privacy glass windows
  • Twin split aero spoiler
  • Active intake Grill Shutter (AGS)
