McLaren’s latest addition to their lineup is the Artura, featuring a plug-in hybrid V6 engine, a departure from their previous V8-powered models. Despite this shift, the new V6 engine is notably lighter than its predecessor, helping to counterbalance the additional weight from batteries and electric motors. With an impressive 670 horsepower and 720 Newton-meters of torque, the Artura can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds and boasts an impressive top speed of 205 mph (330 km/h).
The Artura effectively takes the place of the company’s most popular model, the 570S, occupying the significant space between the GT and the 720S in terms of dynamics and affordability. McLaren claims that it ushers in “a new era” for the company, which is reflected in the updated interior design, featuring more intuitive instruments, new seats, a cleaner layout for major controls, and a less complex central touchscreen.
