Toyota has marked the history of the automotive market with affordability, but with the start of the new year, the manufacturer has made some strategic changes with the launch of various hybrid and electric models. Moreover, it has entered the luxury SUV market with the premier of its new convertible the ‘Toyota Century’. Toyota is in high spirits to give tough competition to the premium brand makers BMW, Porsche, Audi, and Cadillac.

Evolution of the ‘Toyota Century’

With the re-launch of the ‘Century,’ Toyota is targeting premium customers who can pamper their status symbol with this luxurious model. It was initially launched in 1967 as a chauffeur-driven car in Japan, where it was mostly driven by executive families like bureaucrats, politicians, and royal families of the country. The main target of Toyota CEO Koji Sato is to bring back legendary models and compete against brands like Rolls Royce and Bentley with improved performance, luxury, and sustainable engineering concepts.

To Produce 30 Units Per Month

The OEM aims to produce 30 units of the ‘Toyota Century’ by each month of 2024. However, local deliveries will start at the start of this year, while international deliveries will start in the latter months of 2024.

It will be available in right-hand and left-hand drive versions with full options in the Middle East, Asia, and Northern America.

Century Pricing

The Toyota Century is outrageously pricey, standing at US$ 220,000 or JPY 33 million. The automaker will provide a choice to its buyers for a basic model costing around $170,000 or the GRMN version hanging around $220,000 where GRMN stands for Gazoo Racing Meister of Nurburgring that points towards a concept car targeting premium customers only.

Toyota has kept the details about its exterior, interior, and specifications hidden for now. We are waiting for the upcoming reveal soon. To read more automotive market news, just visit PakWheels’ official website.
