The World Bank has thrown its weight behind the Capital Development Authority (CDA) for its upcoming intra-city bus service. The international financial institution has agreed to provide crucial technical assistance, marking a pivotal moment for the future of public transportation in the federal capital.

Fleet of 30 Buses Set to Arrive

As the CDA gears up for the new bus service, a fleet of 30 buses, out of a total of 160, is set to arrive from China next month. This strategic move aims to enhance the efficiency and accessibility of public transportation within the city.

Three Depots in the Pipeline

The CDA is leaving no stone unturned in its preparations. Three depots, including a major one at Zero Point, are in the pipeline to cater to the needs of the expanding bus service. The upcoming depots are vital infrastructural components that will play a crucial role in the seamless operation of the intra-city buses.

Open Tendering By CDA

CDA has opted for open tendering after receiving no interest from government-owned companies in the contract bidding for the Zero Point depot. Despite inviting five prominent government companies, including National Logistics Cell and Frontier Work Organisation, none expressed interest in taking up the project.
