In a recent development, the 7th generation Honda City sedan, which made its debut in Thailand three and a half years ago, underwent a facelift specifically for the Thai market.

Thailand, having been the first market to introduce the 7th-generation Honda City sedan in November 2019, is now a little behind in receiving the facelift, as India took the lead in launching the updated version earlier this year.

Style & Design Language

Front fascia of the car comes with some modifications, including a smaller chrome bar, which required a new grille and lower intake design. Non-RS variants feature a multi-slat design for the grille, while RS models showcase a honeycomb pattern instead.

In addition, RS models come with skid skirts, fog lamps, and a sporty lower apron that visually connects to the fog lamp enclosures through black trim. Another change is seen in the revised rear bumper, with RS versions featuring a noticeable diffuser-like element that complements their black boot lid spoiler.

Interior

The interior of the updated Honda City facelift maintains the familiar dashboard design from the previous version. However, there are notable enhancements. The VT EC Turbo variants now feature a new 4.2-inch TFT multi-information display.

As for the RS models, they now come with combined leather and synthetic leather upholstery, replacing the previous combination of leather and suede. In contrast, SV models boast dark red synthetic leather trim on the center console and door panels, creating a contrasting effect within the black-themed interior.

Power

The powertrain options for the V, SV, and RS models remain unchanged in the updated Honda City facelift. They continue to be equipped with a 1.0 L turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 121 horsepower and 173 Nm of torque. This engine powers the front wheels through a CVT gearbox, just like in the previous version.

On the other hand, the e:HEV variants retain Honda’s Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) hybrid system. These variants utilize an electric motor rated at 107 horsepower (80 kW) and 253 Nm of torque to drive the front wheels. The petrol engine in the hybrid system can engage via a single-speed transmission known as the E-CVT, providing direct drive at higher speeds for optimal efficiency.
