Rimac Nevera Sets A New EV Nürburgring Record

Driven by Croatian racer Martin Kodrić, the Nevera showcased its capabilities on the challenging Nürburgring track, completing a lap in 7:05.28. This time beat the previous electric vehicle lap record and was confirmed by independent timing data, TÜV SÜD, and on-board telemetry, using Michelin Cup2R tires.

The Nevera took the record from the Tesla Model S Plaid Track Package, which had taken the honor from the Porsche Taycan Turbo S in June. The Tesla achieved a time of 7:25.231, while Rimac shattered that record, finishing the lap almost 20 seconds faster.

This is not the first time that Rimac Nevera has set a new record. Back in November last year, the all-electric hypercar broke the top speed record for an electric production car by reaching 258 mph. In May, the car set new 23 acceleration and braking records in a single day. The Nevera continued its streak of breaking records at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June, becoming the fastest electric production car on the hillclimb.

With 1,914 horsepower and a price tag of $2.5 million, this flagship hypercar by Rimac is equipped with four electric motors, one for each wheel, and a powerful 120-kilowatt-hour battery, we can only wonder what kind of records the Nevera will break next.
