Have you ever gone through the terrifying experience of having a beloved pet escape? I haven’t, but I can only imagine the anxiety and the sleeplessness one gets after a fluffy one legs it from your home. Then, with a heavy heart, you have to put up posters around your neighborhood and bulletin boards of local stores. Well, you’re not alone because that’s seemingly what the U.S. Government is going through right now as Joint Base Charleston says it sort of misplaced one of its Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning II fighter jets.

Apparently, this happened after a “mishap” where the jet’s pilot went all “ejecto seato, cuz” while the aircraft was still operating on autopilot. Considering the lack of reports of a big fireball, it’s reasonable to estimate that the aircraft went down into a body of water. The feds are currently checking an area around Lake Moultrie, not far from Charleston, S.C.

They better search fast, or else I’m going to have something really sweet for this Friday’s Mercedes’ Marketplace Madness. How about a huge discount on an $80 million or so jet?

F35lol

Parsko wins COTD with:

For Sale: F35, slightly used, slightly wet. $30m, we know what we got.

The replies were equally gold, from Pisco Sour:

Ran when ejected.

Ben:

Never buy a flood plane. Or a flood plain. Neither are worth it at any price.

Rollin Hand also had a good chuckle out of me:

To be fair, premature ejection is becoming more common in younger men.

Beached Wail:

$89 million aircraft. $29 AirTag. Just saying…

Lokki:

So the Air Force can’t even track their own F-35? That there’s some good Stealth!

Oh my, the comments in that one are just too good. Thanks for the Monday laughs, everyone!
