Locally Assembled Haval Jolion – First Look Review

[ad_1]

We are here with the first look review of the recently arrived locally assembled Haval Jolion. It is pertinent to mention that although Sazgar Engineering has revealed the booked and delivered it to its consumers, the official launch event of this crossover SUV will be held on August 31, 2023. The company had already been selling this car’s imported (CBU) units in the local market.

The direct competitors of this car are Kia Sportage, Oshan X7, Hyundai Tucson, Haval H6, and MG HS.

Engine

Like CBU, the locally assembled units have a 1.5-turbo engine with Front Wheel Drive (FWD).

Exterior

The Jolion has the new logo of Haval on its front grille under the company’s new guidelines. The LED headlights and Time Running Lights (DRLs) are beautiful, with piano black contrasting with white exterior. The car has 18-inch alloy wheels with Kumho tires.

The side profile has chrome lining, roof lining, and factory-fitted tinted glasses. Meanwhile, it doesn’t have auto boot, just like its CBU unit. The rear build of the car expresses the actual beauty of this C-category car.

Interior

One additional feature in the locally assembled Jolion is the heated seats, not offered in CBU. The car has considerable leg space in the rear seats, making the journey experience very comfortable. Currently, Sazgar only offers beige-colored interiors in the CKD units because offering different color options is a nightmare for new companies like Sazgar as it increases the wait time.

The car doesn’t have ambient lighting, while the driving seat is electric with no lumbar support.

Safety Features

The new Haval Jolion has multiple safety features like Level-2 Autonomous Driving. This includes Lane Center Keep, which will keep your car at the center of the road lane after applying its adaptive cruise control. For example, if there is a trailer on your left, this system automatically takes your car to the right side of the lane to keep a distance between the car and that heavy-duty vehicle.

Then there is Smart Jam Assist for traffic jams, as it will move your car as per the car’s movement in front in a road gridlock. The 360 camera of this crossover is lag-free with HD quality.

Price

The price of CBU Jolion was Rs. 6 million, while the current price of locally assembled is Rs. 8.3 million. At the time of CBU units, its competitors like Kia and Tucson were cheaper; however, now they are more expensive than Jolion.

Drive Test

During the review, we tested the car for different terrains, like roads with potholes, broken roads, and a bit of off-road. As per the company, CKD’s suspension is improved from CBU Jolion. We also checked the car’s handbrake and downhill assist features, and it passed it with flying colors.

We also tested the ABS brake on slippery roads, followed by the road grip capability of this new crossover SUV. It is safe to say that the car is very safe to drive on any type of road.

Dealerships

There are currently 14 dealerships of Haval in Pakistan, while 7 to 8 more will be added in the next 6-8 months.
