2021 Nissan Sentra

Nissan has issued a recall alert for about 153,000 sedans because their rearview cameras can fail to display an image.

Affected models include:

Nissan tells federal safety officials that vibrations from routine opening and closing of the trunk can cause the wiring harness that controls the camera feed to loosen. That can cause “blurriness, distortion, multi-colored imagery, or in some cases, a blank screen.” Altima Platinum trim and Sentra models equipped with rearview cameras may be affected.

Dealers will inspect the harness to determine how to solve the problem. In some cases, they may replace it entirely. In others, they’ll reinforce its connection with tape.

By law, recall repairs are always free.

Many cars face one or more recalls, even years after they leave the factory. Efforts are made to notify owners, but they don’t always reach everyone. Millions of drivers use their cars daily with defective parts that could be fixed for free if their owners knew about a recall. Check our recall center to see if your car is one of them.
