History of chassis 58 F1 GT

Chassis 58 F1 GT was one of the three cars built to GT specification by McLaren. Of these, one was an experimental prototype retained by McLaren (chassis 56 XP GT) and two were sold to existing VIP owners.

Chassis 54 F1 GT went to the Brunei Royal Family. It was the tenth and last McLaren destined for Brunei after five F1 road cars, three F1 LMs and an F1 GTR.

The other car, chassis 58 F1 GT, was ordered by ZENT founder and CEO Yoshio Tsuzuki who had already acquired a Marlboro White F1 road car (chassis 053), a Historic Orange F1 LM (chassis LM2) and an ex-Team Lark F1 GTR (chassis 13R).
