After hybrid Toyota crown officially unveiled in Japan, here we come with another update enticing Toyota enthusiasts. The latest Toyota Yaris Cross hybrid has been introduced in Thailand.  This model was first unveiled in Indonesia earlier this year and has since been shipped to various Asian and Latin American markets.

What Comes Under the Hood?

Newly Launched Toyota Yaris Cross hybrid is powered with a 2NR-VEX 1.5L naturally-aspirated (E20-compliant) petrol engine, boasting the output of 90 hp and 121 Nm of torque.

This engine transfers power to the front wheels through an E-CVT gearbox. Collaborating with this combustion engine is an electric motor generating 79 hp (59 kW) and 141 Nm, culminating in a combined system output of 110 hp.

The hybrid battery, a 4.3 Ah lithium-ion unit, contributes to the efficiency of the vehicle. Impressively, the Yaris Cross hybrid achieves a fuel economy rating of 26.3 km per liter.

Variants & Price

In Thailand, the Yaris Cross hybrid is offered in three different versions: HEV Smart, priced at 789,000 baht (equivalent to PKR 59.97 lac), HEV Premium at 849,000 baht (PKR 64.53 lac), and the top-tier HEV Premium Luxury, which is available at 899,000 baht (PKR 68.33 lac).

The base variant HEV smart offers automatic LED headlamps, LED taillights, LED DRLs, LED front fog lamps, keyless entry and engine start in conjunction with 17-inch alloy wheels. Whilst HEV Premium boasts 17-inch brushed dual-tone alloys, two front parking sensors and silver roof rails. Meanwhile, the flagship HEV Premium Luxury gets 18-inch polished dual tone alloys, welcome lamps on the side mirrors a fixed panoramic roof mated with powered curtain.

Interior

Highlighting the interior, the base variant HEV smart offers a 10.1-inch touchscreen head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic air-conditioning, a 6-speaker sound system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and leather seat upholstery.

In HEV premium variant 8-way powered driver’s seat, seat upholstery featuring Quole Modure and a front-facing dashcam as additional features.

Whereas the flagship flaunts same what offered in HEV Premium else 6-speaker Pioneer sound system, a powered tailgate with hands-free access, a tire pressure monitoring system. a Qi wireless charging pad, a panoramic view monitor and a rear-facing dashcam.

Safety Features

The HEV Smart is equipped with 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, brake assist, three drive modes (Power, Normal and Eco), VSC, traction control, hill start assist, rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera. Coming to HEV premium variant, it comes with Toyota Safety Sense suite featuring a blind spot monitor, a front departure alert, pedal misoperation control, rear cross-traffic alert, pre-collision safety (autonomous emergency braking), all-speed adaptive cruise control, automatic high beam and lane departure warning.
