McLaren has since ended production of the 600LT supercar. However, this Bringatrailer listing offers you the chance to own a well-maintained example of one of the most exciting modern track-focused supercars.
The McLaren 600LT Spider was first unveiled in January 2019, several months after the coupe was shown. It is based on the 570S platform, but McLaren stretched the performance capabilities even further to create the ultimate expression of McLaren’s entry-level supercar.
One of the highlights of the 600LT Spider is its engine. The 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 is the same one found in the 570S. However, several tweaks and enhancements have boosted the power output to 592 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque, up from 562 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to the rear wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission. You can expect a sub-3-second sprint to 60 mph. McLaren says a 201 mph top speed is possible if you are brave enough to keep your foot on the throttle while enjoying the engine roar from the top-mounted exhaust outlets.
McLaren only kept the 600LT in production for a couple of years, so there are not too many around. Still, this particular one listed for sale will still stand out with a host of factory and aftermarket enhancements. It is covered by a light blue vinyl wrap over its original Saros colour (grey). Aftermarket modifications include a p1-stye carbon fibre front trunk lid, Novitect suspension bits, and Brixton Forged wheels. For privacy, an aftermarket tint was also applied to the rear and side windows.
It is also well-equipped from the factory. Goodies include a front lift axle system, front and rear parking sensors, plus reversing camera. For the interior, you’ll find power-adjustable and heated seats with MSO Defined Indian Red seat belts. The seats are upholstered in black leather and Alcantara. They complement a layout that boasts carbon-fibre trim accents on the door sill guards, dashboard, door panels and centre console.
This 600LT Spider also has the Carbon Fibre Exterior Upgrade 1 and 2 packages. The upgrades add carbon-fibre trims to the front splitter and endplates, side intakes, side skirts, winglets and mirror casings.
The Carfax report is clean, with no record of damage or accidents in its history. The car has 3,300 miles on the odometer, but it’s been well-maintained with full-service records. To sweeten the deal, the seller is also offering a McLaren battery tender and a front license plate bracket.
The 600LT Spider easily ranks as one of McLaren’s best cars of the modern era. The styling, capabilities and elevated driving experience make the car a serious alternative for those who are put off by the much-more expensive 765LT supercar.
